ANN ARBOR, Mich., Jan. 28, 2011 /PRNewswire/ — Affinia Group Inc., an innovative global leader in the design, manufacture, distribution and marketing of industrial grade products and services, is more than tripling its warehouse and distribution capacity in Extrema, Minas Gerais, with the building of a new facility located about 100 kilometers (62 miles) from Sao Paulo. The purpose-built facility is scheduled to begin operations during January.
Affinia’s South American subsidiary, Affinia Automotiva, has operated in Extrema since 2005. With this new construction, the Extrema operation is growing from 3,000 square meters (32,000 square feet) to 10,000 square meters (107,000 square feet). The additional 7,000 square meters (75,000 square feet) is dedicated to warehouse operations.
