DEARBORN — ACCESS, a nonprofit Arab American human services agency, has elected Jeff Antaya as the board’s vice president.

Antaya began his career as an accountant and eventually moved into the cellular phone industry. Over the course of 10 years, he held various sales and marketing executive positions at Nextel and played a significant part in the company’s growth as a Fortune 100 company before Nextel was acquired by Sprint. His position at public accounting firm, Plante Moran, has allowed him to merge his skills in accounting, sales and marketing to help the firm grow and expand throughout the Midwest. Prior to his election as vice president, Antaya served as an ACCESS board member.

“Jeff is extremely well respected in the community, and his leadership role is vital not only to our organization, but to other nonprofits he is involved with such as the Detroit Institute of Arts,” said Hassan Jaber, ACCESS executive director. “He is committed to helping others and helping the city of Detroit grow and thrive.”
