CLARKSTON—3 Balls Racing, a metro-Detroit based open track racing group, will hold its fourth annual fundraising event to benefit The Karmanos Cancer Institute on Aug. 8 through Aug. 9 at Waterford Hills Road Racing in Clarkston. The group expects to raise about $32,000 over the weekend-long event.

“This will be our fourth year putting on this event,” says Kenny Walters, event committee member. “Every year our target goal is to beat last year’s total by at least one dollar. Last year we raised $28,500.”

The event will feature a silent auction, a high performance driving event, lunch, and exotic car rides. The event founder, Ken Grulich, was treated at the center after developing skin cancer.

The cost to participate as a driver is $200 for a single day or $375 for the entire weekend. The proceeds from the event will be donated to Karmanos. To register, visit 3ballsracing.com/events.
