DETROIT — The Detroit community showed overwhelming support of The Children’s Center through record sponsorship of AutoGlow Detroit Razzle Dazzle. Presented by Ford Motor Co., the event, which featured the glamour and glitz of the Roaring ’20s, netted more than $250,000 for The Children’s Center.

“Detroiters have been generously supporting our work with vulnerable children and families for 85 years,” said Debora Matthews, the Children’s Center’s president and CEO. “Proceeds from AutoGlow and Charity Preview accelerate our ability to provide life-changing mental health services to more than 7,500 children and families regardless of their ability to pay. We thank all of our supporters for making AutoGlow and Charity Preview 2014 a resounding success.”

The event was hosted by Lisa & Bill Ford and Alan Mulally of Ford Motor Co. Ford’s Presenting sponsorship of the event builds on more than 82 years of continuous support for The Children’s Center from Ford and members of the Ford family since its founding in 1929.

Nearly 1,000 guests enjoyed an elegant menu of hors d’oeuvres, dinner and decadent desserts featuring several dishes from the era.  Guests then danced to Detroit’s Ben Sharkey Band. The all-new 2015 Ford Mustang GT was on display as well as an award-winning 1929 Ford Model A. The automobiles highlighted the past and future of the industry, which has been, and continues to be, a vital component of the region.

Among other sponsors supporting the event at record levels were Platinum Sponsor: BASF; Gold Sponsors: DENSO International America, Inc., Harman International, Tweddle Group and Silver Sponsors: Siemens PLM Software, The Detroit Lions Inc., Jackson Dawson Communications and Team Detroit. Joining them were In-Kind Travel Sponsor Delta Air Lines, In-Kind Venue Sponsor Ford Field, Exclusive Magazine Sponsor Hour Detroit, and In-Kind Food & Beverage Sponsor Levy Restaurants.
