ROYAL OAK — Arts du Jour presented by Soaring Eagle Casino and Resort and Beaumont Hospital is returning Aug. 21 at the Barbara A. Hallman Memorial Plaza & Veterans Memorial located outside the Royal Oak Library and City Hall.

The charity preview event for Ford Arts, Beats & Eats will transform the memorial into a performing arts and party pavillion. The event offers a sneak peek into the tastes and sounds that thousands of people look forward to experiencing at the annual Labor Day festival.

Ten nonprofit organizations will receive proceeds from Arts du Jour and event attendees can choose which of those organizations their ticket benefits. The recipient organizations are the Boys & Girls Club of South Oakland County, COTS, Forgotten Harvest, Matrix Human Services, Michigan Humane Society, Planned Parenthood, PlayPlace for Autistic Children,  Rose Hill Center, Royal Oak High School Dance Team, and South Oakland Shelter.

More than 45 of metro Detroit’s restaurants, eateries, sweet shops, and boutiques, including Prime 29 Steakhouse, Lily’s Seafood, and Town Tavern will serve their finest offerings both inside and outside the library, while bands and cultural performers take to two stages.

The VIP ticket option returns this year with only 250 tickets available. In addition to samples from the dozens of eateries being showcased at Arts du Jour and receiving three drink ticket vouchers, the VIP ticket offers partygoers early access to the event, complimentary valet parking, and access to a VIP Lounge area serving sparkling Barefoot Bubbly.

Another exclusive feature for VIP ticket holders is the casino program which includes chips for the casino games in the VIP lounge where players can try their luck at Blackjack, Poker, and Roulette. At the end of the evening, VIP players can cash in their chips to benefit their favorite charity. The charity that receives the most chips earns a $2,000 bonus.

Tickets are $100 for VIP Access and $65 for general admission. Guests are requested to dress in summer chic or summer upscale attire.
