Rassini, a manufacturer of suspension and brake components that operates its North American headquarters in Plymouth, is expanding its suspension components to include leaf springs for the North American heavy commercial truck market.

“Entering the commercial truck market in North America was a natural progression for us, and we are already experiencing early success,” says Eugenio Madero, president of Rassini, S.A.B. de C.V. “We are excited to extend our suspension solutions to a new group of customers.”

Madero says the company was awarded a contract with Dearborn-based Ford Motor Co. to supply front suspension technology for the Ford F-650/F-750 Work Truck Series built at the automaker’s assembly plant in Ohio. He says Rassini previously served only South America’s heavy truck industry, but now anticipates doubling its North American market share by 2018.

Rassini produces suspension components for light-duty vehicles and manages the design, engineering, and manufacturing of leaf springs for various automakers. The company supplies suspension components for 10 light trucks in North America.

The company has eight manufacturing centers across Mexico, Brazil, and the United States. Its customer base includes General Motors, FCA US LLC, Nissan, and Toyota, among other OEMs.
