Located in Southeastern Michigan, GAV & Associates Inc. has built their own path as they navigate the unpredictable and ever changing nature of the architectural industry. GAV’s portfolio has grown exponentially in diversity and vigor, providing architectural design and planning services for assembly, commercial, educational, industrial, residential, and historical preservation development projects.

Beginning in 1998, Ghassan Abdelnour, the co-founder and CEO of GAV & Associates, brought together a team with two other colleagues Al Valentine and Freeman Greer, and they started the firm from the ground up. Since then, they built a 15+ member team that prioritizes servicing each client with the utmost attention to design and integrity, driven by pure professionalism.

Ghassan’s dedication to the pursuit of function and beauty, pushes him to find a conjunction between the two in each project he and his team works on. More importantly, his passion for helping people has become an anthem that rings throughout the culture of the firm. A recently joined employee, Majd Mattar, said, “It is such a collaborative environment here. With such a diverse portfolio, it is nice to have a collective knowledge of all the projects coming in and out of the office.”

Ghassan designs with empathy in mind, leading him to create long lasting partnerships, clients, and friends within the industry. Working alongside Ghassan is his wife, Bahn Abdelnour, a senior architectural designer who passionately leads GAV’s award-winning custom residential department. Together, Ghassan and Bahn’s talents coincide as they create harmonious designs for their clients.

With major projects coming up like the renovation of the historical Dearborn Hyatt Regency Hotel and the IAGD Cultural Center, the GAV team is driven to use architecture to make an impact. “We are always moving forward,” says Ghassan, “As a team, we can accomplish any project that comes our way, and hopefully elevate our community in the process.”
