Innovative Designs and Concepts (IDC) was founded in 2019 by James O. Price and Kevin D. Binion to bring inventions to the marketplace.
“We build solutions to problems that are under the radar,” Price and Binion says. “We also build innovations for everyday life, recreation, electronics, education, and other areas of daily living. Our inventions are practical and use technology where it benefits humanity.”
The first product the pair has unveiled is a safety innovation for bicycles called BykeCam, a camera attached to the rear of bicycles that feeds live color video of a 180-degree viewing area to a 3-by-4-inch monitor affixed to the handlebars. The real-time video allows bicyclists to view rear traffic and blind-spot traffic from vehicles and pedestrians.
BykeCam is powered by a rechargeable battery that lasts up to 12 hours and provides 10 minutes of video when riders stop at intersections or stops on routes. BykeCam fits most bicycles, including tandem, electric, and mountain bikes. It also has an attachment for bike racks. Additional accessories in production include an attachment for child carriers, and a special unit for law enforcement bicycles. BykeCam will be launched summer of 2024.
The target market includes bike dealers, retail stores, bike clubs, and direct-to-consumer sales via an online sales platform.
Investment would assist with production, warehousing, and distribution.
