The Marygrove Conservancy in Detroit and the Operations School in Farmington Hills are conducting Operate 2024, a free, one-day free conference for small business owners on Sept. 20 at the Marygrove Conservancy.

The event will feature presentations and resources from leaders of Southeast Michigan’s small business community on best practices for successful day-to-day business operations.

“We’re incredibly excited to announce Operate 2024, a premier small business conference that will show founders how to give their business credibility, visibility and scalability,” says Racheal Allen, CEO of Operations School. “With this event, we are creating an environment where business owners feel safe to talk about their obstacles, ask questions, and realize they aren’t alone in the challenges they face.”

Operate 2024 topics will include how to streamline operations with technology, understanding legal responsibilities and compliance, branding, and how to grow a business to scale. The event will have three different tracks – Start, Scale, and Sustain – based on where attendees are in their business journeys.

“Marygrove Conservancy has served as a presenting partner of the conference since it began in 2022, a partnership that aligns with the conservancy’s vision of serving as an educational, economic, and civic anchor in the revitalization of Detroit,” says Turkessa Baldridge, director of programs and engagement at Marygrove Conservancy.

“Operate 2024 allows us to fulfill this aim by providing the entrepreneurs in our community with the knowledge and resources for long-lasting business success, which in turn will lead to the greater success of our region.”

The event will take place from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. on the Marygrove campus, located at 8425 W. McNichols Road in Detroit.
