The Lee Group will be hosting its 11th Annual Small Business Workshop, presented by Comerica Bank — themed Thriving Through Uncertainty: Strategies for Resilience — on May 14 at The Corner Ballpark – Detroit PAL at 1680 Michigan Ave. in Detroit. Admission is free.

Taking place at the former site of Tiger Stadium from 8 a.m.-noon, the event brings together business experts, entrepreneurs, and community leaders to share actionable strategies for navigating today’s rapidly evolving business environment.

As businesses grapple with rising uncertainty — driven by shifting federal policies such as new tariffs, funding freezes, workforce reductions, and heightened immigration enforcement — the workshop promises to provide timely guidance and support.

“As we celebrate the 11th year of the Small Business Workshop, there’s never been a more important time to support our small business community,” says Mark S. Lee, president of The Lee Group and founder of the Small Business Workshop. “Our goal is to equip entrepreneurs with the tools, insights, and inspiration they need to thrive—no matter what challenges lie ahead.”

According to the National Federation of Independent Business, uncertainty among small business owners has reached one of the highest levels since tracking began in 1986. The pressures are mounting — particularly for Michigan’s small businesses, which are disproportionately affected by economic disruptions and rising costs, according to Lee.

“In times of uncertainty, coming together to share knowledge, strategies, and support isn’t just Valuable, it’s essential,” says Lee. “Workshops like this empower small business owners to navigate challenges, adapt to change, and uncover new opportunities for growth.”
