The Michigan Technology Conference (MITechCon) will take place March 21-22 at the United Wholesale Mortgage (UWM) Sports Complex in Pontiac.

The two-day event brings together technology professionals, business owners, students, and enthusiasts for networking opportunities and the chance to learn about the latest innovations and trends in technology directly from industry leaders.

“Metro Detroit is a hub of talent, groundbreaking companies, and innovative minds,” says Michael Riley, president of MITechCon. “Despite this, we’ve noticed a gap — the absence of a grand annual event that both celebrates and showcases our local brilliance while educating the community about the remarkable resources available right here in Michigan.

Riley says the Michigan Technology Conference is his answer to bridging this gap. It’s designed to shine a spotlight on the technological companies of Michigan, foster a sense of pride, and offer a platform for growth in the state.

“We’re excited about the opportunities this conference presents for fostering growth and collaboration among Michigan’s tech community,” says Riley.

This year’s theme, “Innovating for Tomorrow,” focuses on exploring forward-thinking across several fields within the tech industry, such as coding, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and leadership development.

The event consists of interactive showcases and speaking sessions from more than 50 industry leaders from across the globe, sharing insights and key practices to navigate the future of tech space. Notable speakers include Tim O’Reilly, CEO of O’Reilly Media, and Jason Bressler, chief technology officer for UWM.

The event also has nearly 30 sponsors, including Google Cloud, O’Reilly Media, Infoblox, Clean Coders, and IntelePeer, with UWM serving as titanium sponsor of the event.

“We’re incredibly excited to be the titanium sponsor of MITechCon,” says Bressler. “UWM is committed to developing industry-leading, state-of-the-art technology, and events like this allow us to surround ourselves and learn from like-minded individuals who share our same passion for innovation.”
