Farbman Group, a full-service real estate company in Southfield, has announced that Full Lotus Yoga, an independently owned studio, has signed a lease for a 2,650-square-foot space on the third floor of 6505 Woodward Ave. in Detroit’s New Center.

The studio will offer Vinyasa-style yoga, which involves synchronizing breath with a continuous flow of poses, and is slated to open in early fall.

“As Detroit continues in its revitalization, we are beginning to see more and more businesses move downtown that are seeking vibrant and high-quality properties,” says Andrew V. Farbman, CEO of Farbman Group.

“Full Lotus Yoga is an excellent fit for the active live, work, play environment that we see consistently emerging within Detroit. The studio’s new location will prove to be a convenient and favorable space for residents to incorporate overall wellness into their routine.”

The building is mixed-use and is owned by The Barbat Organization. It was purchased in December 2017 and is undergoing a full renovation. It will also house Lake Trust Credit Union on the first floor and has a restaurant space available on the corner unit. The second floor will likely be office space.

Full Lotus Yoga opened its first location in June 2013 at 20365 Mack Ave. in Grosse Pointe Woods. The new studio is the company’s second location. The company strives to create a welcoming and inclusive studio to yoga practitioners of all backgrounds. It will offer regularly scheduled classes, private lessons, meditation classes, workshops, and events encompassing yoga and health and wellness.

Full Lotus Yoga partners with YogaWorks each year to provide a 5-Star Yoga Alliance ranked 200-hour yoga teacher training. New students are eligible for a free first class with proof of a Michigan ID and a 30-day trial period for $30.
