Detroit’s COTS, a nonprofit that provides emergency shelter and long-term supportive housing for families experiencing or at risk of homelessness, will host a 1920s-themed fundraiser on all three levels of Detroit’s Gem Theatre. The evening will include an open bar, a charity casino, a meet and greet with COTS CEO Cheryl P. Johnson, and small plates from more than 25 local restaurants. Live jazz music will include numbers by flutist Alexander Zonjic and Friends featuring jazz violinist Evan Garr, 12-year-old jazz prodigy Justin Schultz, the Jerry Ross Band, and Herbie Russ.
Taryn Asher of Fox 2 and Jason Carr of WDIV Local 4 will serve as hosts. The event will also work to dispel misperceptions of homelessness.
General admission is $60 and tickets to the VIP reception are $110. Tickets are available here.
