Polymer Process Development (PPD), a company that specializes in encapsulating glass for automotive industries and other areas, will move its headquarters and engineering/warehousing facilities into 75,000 square feet of leased space in Shelby Township.

The company wants to stay in Macomb County. The new office will be located at 11969 Shelby Tech Drive.

“We have enjoyed being in Macomb County and really wanted to remain in the area if at all possible,” says Robert Brisley, president and co-founder of PPD. “We are grateful to the Macomb County Department of Planning and Economic Development for the assistance it provided us along the way — especially director John Paul Rea and project coordinator Camille Silda.”

PPD also specializes in glass assembly, value-added components prototyping, and 3-D printing and production. In addition to the automotive industry, PPD serves the marine, recreational vehicle, mass-transit, heavy-truck, specialty-vehicle, and commercial-coolers and refrigeration industries.

E&R Industrial, a division of Grainger, currently occupies PPD’s new space and will move in the next several months. PPD will move 150 employees and production facilities from Chesterfield Township to the new location, along with the corporate headquarters currently in Clinton Township. The move will begin in the next few weeks and should be completed before the end of the summer.
