Wish Upon a Teen is a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides resources, time, and opportunities to teenagers with severe life-limiting medical conditions at eight hospitals across Michigan. The hospitals are: Karmanos Cancer Center, DMC Children’s Hospital, Corewell Health East (formerly Beaumont Health), University of Michigan Main Hospital, C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital, Sparrow Health System, Ascension Michigan (formerly St. John Providence Health System), and Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital. Its programs include Design My Room, where teens facing long-term hospital stays have their rooms redecorated to create a more comforting, relaxing, and home-like environment; Spa Day, where teens are treated to manicures, pedicures, styling, makeup, facials, and more; an annual gala prom for teens unable to attend their schools called Evening of Dreams Prom; and Family Outings, supported by community sponsors who donate tickets to major sporting events.
