The Michigan Freedom Center in Troy is a nonprofit that provides comfort to active military and veterans. It has grown to a total of four Freedom Centers at the North and McNamara terminals at Detroit Metro Airport and two more at the Military Entrance Processing Stations in Lansing and Troy. The locations provide, at no charge, comfortable rest, reflection, airport services, snacks and beverages, and WiFi to traveling active military, veterans, and their families. Along with donations, people can support the center’s mission without sending the organization money by shopping on Amazon Smile, using the Kroger Community Rewards program, and signing up for Charity Mobile. Since 2011, more than 700,000 guests have come through the centers.
