The Jacqueline E. Bayley Foundation was formed to honor the memory of its namesake, who at age 31, was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer. Early detection is key to fighting any type of cancer, but an early detection test for ovarian cancer does not exist. The foundation funds cancer research at the Karmanos Cancer Institute and the University of Michigan Comprehensive Cancer Center. Board members from the foundation meet with researchers at both institutions to advocate for the research of early detection methods.
