The mission of The Arc of Northwest Wayne County, founded in 1961 in Canton Township, is building inclusive communities through advocacy, support, and information. It is dedicated to improving the quality of life for all people and believes participation in community life is essential to the well-being of every person. With the right assistance and support, the organization says, people with intellectual and developmental disabilities can and will be contributing, valued members of the communities in which they live.
