The mission of the Sparrow Freedom Project, founded in Southfield in 2017, is to build a human trafficking survivor-led community supporting and empowering exploited and trafficked individuals on their journey to achieving independence through services and prevention. The organization strives to be an entity for change for the exploited and trafficked individuals, led by survivors and supported by allies. The Sparrow Freedom Project is in the process of rehabbing a two-unit safe house in Detroit that will provide emergency wraparound services 24/7 to anyone trafficked or exploited.
