Six Rivers Land Conservancy in Rochester is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that seeks to conserve, sustain, and connect natural areas, lands, and waters that “make the places we live special.” The conservancy protects more than 3,100 acres across 10 natures preserves, 13 assist projects, and 28 conservation easements. It says its aim is to create a healthy habitat for wildlife and human beings; preserving land uses such as farming, timber, and recreation while protecting more fragile areas; educating the community to help develop a healthy connection to the land and nature; and adding economic viability to southeastern Michigan by partnering with businesses for financial support.
