Sidewalk Detroit is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization based in Detroit that aims to advance public life and strong social infrastructure through the lens of arts, culture, collaborative design, and engagement with residents. It offers services that span public engagement, event production, and public art programming. One of its anchor projects is participating in the community effort to revitalize the Brightmoor neighborhood’s Eliza Howell Park to be a valuable and experiential gathering place for area residents. Another anchor program is Now: Future Artist Summit, a three-day event where area artists explore new and existing opportunities related to alternative economies and community-based resource creation.
