West Bloomfield-based Project Healthy Community is a health and wellness nonprofit organization that helps meet the needs of Detroit residents. Due to COVID-19, the organization has centered their efforts on a few strategic core programs, including an expanded mobile food pantry serving seniors and families with children, a pantry that provides personal hygiene and household supplies, an SOS fund for families in financial crisis at Project Healthy Community partner schools, and Project Healthy Community family wellness center, which provides care to community members at no cost. A $50 donation will provide two families with one month’s worth of personal hygiene and household supplies. A $100 donation will supply two weeks-worth of food for five families. A $500 donation will fund one SOS grant aiding a Detroit family in crisis. The organization offers community programs that provide resources and services, education programs, and family wellness programs for adults who are interested in leading healthier lives.
