Michigan Children’s Law Center (MCLC), with offices in Hamtramck and St. Clair Shores, was founded in 2004 and represents children who are in the child welfare system and juvenile justice system in Michigan. It serves as the lawyers who advocate for their legal and/or best interests within the courts programs, which include the Mental Health Court, Drug Court, and Baby Docket. MCLC also provides education advocacy and aging out advocacy for its clients. Additionally, the organization helps families by providing school supplies, clothing, housing resources, domestic violence prevention advocacy, literacy training, restorative practices, therapeutic and trauma-informed advocacy, resource education, and more.
