Masonic Temple Detroit Centennial Celebration
The Masonic Temple Detroit, the largest facility of its kind in the world, hosted a centennial celebration of its cornerstone laying on Saturday, Sept. 24. The event featured a rededication ceremony that was open to the public, followed by a ticketed red-carpet gala in the temple’s newly restored Fountain Ballroom, which was unveiled that night. For the event, current Masons dressed in their tuxedoes and top hats, wearing their formal uniform with feather chapeaus as they did in 1922. Guests enjoyed performances from The Next Generation Funk Brothers, Ralph Armstrong Trio, and DJ Rock’em, dinner, beverages, and dancing. // Photographs by Patrick Gloria
