Home Run for Charity

Detroit Tigers’ center fielder Curtis Granderson hosted Passport to the Wines of the World on July 23 at the Big Rock Chop House in Birmingham. More than 200 people enjoyed 300 wines, a strolling dinner, and a bachelor auction featuring Granderson and fellow teammates Edwin Jackson and Ryan Perry. Also in attendance were Tigers’ manager Jim Leyland, catcher Gerald Laird, and right fielder Magglio Ordonez. The event raised around $50,000 for Granderson’s charity, the Grand Kids Foundation.
