Haven Homes of Detroit is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization with the mission of helping women leave human trafficking with space, time, and resources for healing. The group purchases and renovates homes in Detroit that will house three to four women. The residents will be in the program for 18-24 month’s rent free. Living at the house provides a safe community and accountability so women can focus on healing. Its programs offer life skills learning, financial literacy training, working with social services, job skills readiness, legal assistance, and other activities to increase the chances of successfully securing housing beyond their time at Haven Homes of Detroit. The goal is to remove the barriers that afflict the women serves so they can move beyond the trauma that they have experienced and move on with their lives.
