The Do Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization based in Detroit with a mission to connect directly with homeless people to provide them with immediate needs and to generate community support and programs. Its services include a 24-hour laundry, showers, phones, fax, internet access, and mail. It also offers prevention services for those facing a loss of housing or clothing, and provides assistance in obtaining identification or other necessary documentation, transitional housing for those accessing supportive services (welfare, food stamps, and more), and education and awareness to guide people away from the circumstances that brought them to a situation without housing.
