Led by a group of community leaders, the Detroit Public Schools Community District Foundation (DPSCDF) is an independent 501(c)(3) entity that raises money to support Detroit Public Schools Community District students. The foundation’s mission is to help ensure that every student has an opportunity to receive a quality education. DPSCDF also works to help the general public to understand the opportunities and challenges experienced every day in the city’s educational institutions. In response to funding requests, it awards grants to teachers, schools, and nonprofits operating in the schools for programs and materials designed to enhance the students’ educational experiences.
