Detroit Action is a union of Black and Brown, low- and no-income homeless and housing insecure Detroit residents fighting for housing and economic justice. The group provides opportunities for individuals and families to develop themselves through leadership development workshops, organizer internships, nonpartisan voter education, and collaboration with other local, national, and international organizations. One such program is Voices of Detroit Youth, a committee made up of 14-to-19 year-olds from metro Detroit that assists people with voter registration and youth leadership development, and educating them to organize campaigns that address racial inequity.
