DBusiness Breakfast Series — Scaling Minority Owned Businesses

The DBusiness Breakfast Series hosted its Scaling Minority Owned Businesses event on Tuesday, Feb. 7, at the Gem Theater in downtown Detroit. The event featured a strolling breakfast and networking before a panel discussion led by Ken Harris, president and CEO of the National Business League. The panelists included Rachael Allen, founder and CEO of Operations School | OPSIDIA; Larry Brinker Jr., president and CEO of Brinker Group; Lawrence T. Garcia, senior counsel at Miller Canfield; and Ron Hall, president and CEO of Bridgewater Interiors. The discussion centered around the obstacles faced by minority owned businesses when scaling — including a lack of access to capital — and how to solve those problems. Event sponsors included the Detroit Pistons, PNC Bank, ACG Detroit, 3JS Creative Group, Fishbeck, EO Detroit, and Walker Miller Energy Services. // Photographs by Patrick Gloria
