D House of Angels in Lake Orion was founded in 2022 by domestic abuse survivor Dalania Stevens to offer a sanctuary for both women and men in the community who have been affected by domestic violence. Her vision was to create more than just a shelter; she aimed to provide a comprehensive support system that empowers individuals to rebuild their lives with dignity and safety. In addition to providing safe shelter, D House of Angels offers counseling, advocacy, support groups, and holistic services to help survivors escape abusive situations and rebuild their lives. The organization also works to raise awareness about domestic violence and sexual assault, advocate for policy changes, and promote prevention efforts within communities.
