Clara’s Hope in Fenton was created in 2015 under the umbrella of Freedom Center Church and by 2020 it became an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Today, Clara’s Hope serves 100 foster and adoptive families across Genesee and Livingston counties, working to fill in the gap between agencies and families by providing accessibility to essential resources, mentorship, emotional support, and community connections. The organization uses volunteers to provide meals, housecleaning, small home repairs, and childcare for foster families. Full-time social workers help parents navigate court, explain paperwork, and provide individual support to families through the ups and downs of foster care and adoption.
