Chandler Park Conservancy is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) based on the east side of Detroit with the mission to develop educational, recreational, and conservation opportunities at Chandler Park for youth and people of all ages. The group is working toward a revitalized Chandler Park, which is one of only four 200-plus acre “regional parks” in the city of Detroit. The conservancy is developing a multi-facility “urban conservation campus,” the only one of its kind in Michigan. It has partnered with the city of Detroit and Wayne County, serving as an advocate, fundraiser, construction and project manager, promoter, and program coordinator.
