Alternating Hemiplegia of Childhood Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization in Southfield dedicated to developing treatments and a cure for AHC, a neurological disorder that causes transient attacks of paralysis on one or both sides of the body. It can range from numbness to full loss of feeling and movement. It also promotes proper diagnosis; education of health care professionals, the public, and related organizations; encouraging the worldwide exchange of information; and advancing the development of an international database of all AHC patients. It has a free online webinar series dedicated to these goals on its website.
