The nonprofit 4 Paws 1 Heart is a 501c3 organization with a mission to reduce the number of homeless cats and dogs by paying for needed medical treatment — including spaying or neutering, treatment of illnesses, and amputations in severe cases — and assisting with the permanent placement of the animals through its network of partnerships with local rescue groups. It was founded in August 2010 by licensed veterinary technician Gina DeLuca and Diana Rascano. Since its foundation, the organization has rescued and placed thousands of animals across Michigan.
