2026 Folktellers for Literacy Awards

Folktellers Studios hosted its 2026 Folktellers for Literacy Awards on June 3 at Emagine Theatre in Royal Oak. Teams from Heritage Elementary School in Stockbridge won first and third place, while Addams Elementary in Royal Oak took home second-place honors. Participants read the Folktellers’ novel ”Phases of the Moon” by Josef Bastian and were challenged to create their own movie trailers based on the book. The work of the finalists, out of more than 1,300 who participated, was shown in the Emagine big screen.
