2023 Automotive Hall of Fame Annual Induction and Awards Ceremony
The Automotive Hall of Fame in Dearborn held its annual induction and awards ceremony on July 20. This year’s inductees were Mary Barra, chair and CEO of General Motors Co. in Detroit; Fred T. Bauer, founder of auto supplier Gentex in Northville Township; race car driver Juan Manuel Fangio; co-founder of the Hondo Motor Co., Takeo Fujisawa; Ford car designer McKinley W. Thompson; and Hot Wheels toy designer Larry Wood. The Automotive Hall of Fame also presented its Mobility Innovator Award, which recognizes those whose new technologies and services are redefining mobility, to Jensen Huang, founder and CEO of NVIDIA, for his work in transforming the transportation industry through AI and accelerated computing. The 2023 Industry Influencer Awards were presented to Mary Joyce, global vice president and general manager of mobility and critical systems, UL Solutions; John Murphy, head of North American automotive research, Bank of America; Beth Paretta, founder, owner, and team principal, Paretta Racing; and Steve St. Andre, founder and chairman, Shift Digital. // Photographs by Lindsay Schweickert
