Lorraine Platman’s little restaurant empire began in Southfield, and over the years has expanded to Livonia. It’s a haven for vegetarians, but there are plenty of meat dishes, and an emphasis on variety, freshness, taste and color throughout. Perennials include chicken and shrimp Creole, Jamaican jerk-spiced tenderloin, and desserts like apple brown Betty with cinnamon ice cream. The beverage list is as eclectic as the menu.
