The Zap Zone in Sterling Heights, a multi-level laser tag arena and activity center, will add 8,000 square feet to its existing 38,000-square-foot complex, to offer more attractions.

“The 38,000 square feet is nice, but this is one of the smaller Zap Zone locations,” says Curt Drouillard, owner of Zap Zone Sterling Heights. “Kids are out for summer, and they’re going to be looking for crazy, fun things to do, and this is the place to be.”

Zap Zone, located at 43680 Van Dyke Ave., features laser tag, bumper cars, glow golf, mini bowling, an aracade, for individuals, parties, corporation outings, and more.

Drouillard says pending safety approval, he is planning to add large trampolines with safety nets and add another laser tag room to the expanded area. “Laser Tag is always our hottest attraction, followed by bumper cars, and glow golf,” Drouillard says.

Zap Zone sells food and has private rooms for parties. There are eight Zap Zone locations in Michigan, including Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti, Brighton, Canton, Farmington, Lansing, Taylor, Utica/Sterling Heights, and Waterford.

Drouillard says there are no new plans to add other locations at this time.

Zap Zone’s summer hours are noon to 11 p.m. Monday to Thursday; noon to midnight Friday and Saturday; and noon to 10 p.m. Sunday.
