Women’s Business Conference Coming to Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi

The Great Lakes Women’s Business Council 19th Annual Women’s Business Conference will take place Sept. 23-24 at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi. The event is open to all women in business and will include speakers, a meet-the-buyers session, and a $2,500 pitch competition.

“There will be executive-level workshops, power networking, and excellent opportunities for women business owners to connect with major corporations such as Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, DTE Energy, General Motors, Toyota, and other businesses to acquire new clients,” says Michelle Richards, founding executive director of the council.

Sheryl Connelly, futurist for Ford Motor Co., will be a featured speaker. She is responsible for identifying global trends, exploring their implications, and applying these insights throughout company departments. She is a member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Advisory Council on Transportation.

Libby Gill, who handles branding behind the launch of the “Dr. Phil” show, will be keynote speaker. She is the former head of communications for Sony, Universal, and Turner Broadcasting. She has been featured by national media and has written five books.

Chala Dincoy, founder and CEO of The Repositioning Expert, a division of Coachtactics, will present ways for business owners to break through the competitive landscape and become corporate decision makers.

Other speakers will lead sessions on leadership, networking return on investment, capability statements, Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Business program, public speaking, multigenerational workforces, succession planning, and more.
