Nearly a decade after opening its doors and 453 rooms in Detroit, the Westin Book Cadillac has announced a three phase multi-million-dollar renewal project to coincide with the hotel’s 10th anniversary.

The project will be managed by Marriott International and design firms are currently under review and will be announced later this month. The first renewal phase will be highlighted by the launch of Starbucks Reserve in early October, which will feature small lot coffees from around the world using the Clover brewing system in addition to classic Starbucks blends. Starbucks Reserve will be the first in metro Detroit to serve Nitro Coffee, a nitrogen infused cold brew coffee with naturally sweet flavors and a velvety crema.

“We are very excited to work alongside The Ferchill Group and Marriott International to refresh all the public and private spaces of the hotel,” says Debra Schultz, Book Cadillac’s general manager. “The Ferchill Group had the vision to restore the hotel and become an early leader and believer of Detroit’s reawakening. We are committed to maintaining this award-winning historic gem and welcoming guests from near and far to our great city.”

Additionally, all guest rooms, suites, guest floor corridors, and other public areas of the hotel will be refreshed beginning in the second half of 2018. The final phase will begin in late 2018 and is slated for completion in early 2019, including all public spaces, food and beverage venues, meeting rooms, and ballrooms.

Located at 1114 Washington Blvd. between State Street and Michigan Avenue, the Westin Book Cadillac features more than 39,000 square feet of event space. More information can be found here.
