Wealth Managers Laskaris Jamett Advisors Opens in Grosse Pointe

Janney Montgomery Scott, a full-service wealth management, capital markets, and asset management firm, is expanding its presence in Michigan with the addition of Laskaris Jamett Advisors. The firm also opened a new branch office in Grosse Pointe.

Janney Montgomery Scott, a full-service wealth management, capital markets, and asset management firm, is expanding its presence in Michigan with the addition of Laskaris Jamett Advisors. The firm also opened a new branch office in Grosse Pointe.

The local team is led by financial advisors who include Renato Jamett, executive vice president/wealth management; and Tom Laskaris, senior vice president/wealth management. They are joined by Dominic Jamett; financial advisor, and Mary Hodge, private client associate. The team was previously associated with Raymond James.

In addition to Battle Creek, Grosse Pointe is Janney’s second branch office in Michigan. Going forward, Jamett will serve as the branch office manager of the Grosse Pointe office where he will help manage the branch and recruit experienced financial advisors to the firm.

The new office in Michigan reflects Janney’s commitment to growth in the region.

Jamett joins Janney with more than 30 years of experience in the financial services industry. He started his career in the late 1980s with Morgan Stanley Dean Witter as a financial advisor.

Renato joined Raymond James in 2000 serving as a managing director, branch manager, and was a member of their diversity council. He also serves on the board of trustees for the Detroit Symphony Orchestra and for Detroit Cristo Rey High School. Renato earned his bachelor’s degree from Wayne State University.

Laskaris started his career in financial services in 1997. He is on the board of directors for the Modern Greek Studies at the University of Michigan. Additionally, he has served his community by being a part of the AHEPA Educational Foundation.

He is also involved with scholarship programs that promote student art works from the Center of Creative Studies, Cranbrook Academy, and Wayne State University through the Detroit Artists Market and the John Korachis scholarship award. He earned his bachelor’s degree in finance from Wayne State University.

Jamett joins Janney with more than five years of experience after joining Laskaris Jamett Advisors in 2015. He is currently on the board of directors for the Letterwinners M Club at the University of Michigan. He graduated from U-M where he was elected president of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, where he represented more than 900 Michigan student-athletes at the NCAA and Big Ten Conference level.

Mary Hodge, practice business manager, has been supporting financial advisors and their clients since 1995. Previously, Hodge served in a similar role at Raymond James where she was the operations manager of the office, while also serving locally on peer leadership groups. She attended Schoolcraft College in Livonia.
