The Connecticut-based hamburger and milkshake restaurant chain Wayback Burgers will open its fourth restaurant in Michigan this spring in Dearborn Heights.

“We believe that the area is a great fit for the brand, and we look forward to providing … burgers, fries, shakes, and more for foodies in Dearborn Heights and beyond,” says Hussein Saab, local franchisee owner along with Latifeh Sabbagh.

Saab says the 1,600-square-foot restaurant, to be located at 22000 Ford Rd., will offer burgers made from 100 percent fresh ground beef that are cooked to order. The burgers are available as a single, double, triple, and the triple triple (nine patties).

Other options include a double bacon cheeseburger, a Philly cheeseburger with grilled onions and mushrooms, and a Chipotle burger with pepper jack cheese, jalapenos, and chipotle mayonnaise, among others. He says there will be additional offerings such as a grilled chicken sandwich, onion rings, cheese fries, and milkshakes in flavors including chocolate, coffee, and Oreo.

Saab says the restaurant is modeled after a throwback roadside burger joint, and will feature a red barn board interior with white and stainless steel accents. Wayback Burgers also has a restaurant in Lansing, along with two restaurants in Rochester Hills.

Wayback Burgers, founded in 1991, operates in 26 states with more than 100 restaurants nationally and in countries including Argentina and Saudi Arabia. The restaurant plans to open in 33 countries in the Middle East, Northern Africa, and Pakistan, among other locations.
