Mitsubishi Motors North America Inc. has announced Waterford Mitsubishi as the latest addition to its dealer network. The 5900 Highland Road location is the second Mitsubishi dealership owned by Philip Lasco through the Lasco Auto Group.
“My dealership team and I are fully committed to the Mitsubishi Motors brand, which is why I chose to invest in opening a second Mitsubishi dealership in Waterford,” says Lasco, dealer principal at the new location. “This opening of Waterford Mitsubishi will help further introduce the Mitsubishi brand to consumers across the Waterford area and continue our efforts to lay the foundation for the future of the new Mitsubishi brand in the U.S.”
The Lasco Auto Group also manages Grand Blanc Mitsubishi in Flint.
Mitsubishi Motors North America has added more than 40 dealer partners over the past 18 months and expanded its national field operations network from two regions to four, adding new offices in Florida and California. There are also operations in New Jersey and Texas. The company has a network of more than 360 dealer partners across the U.S.
In June, Mitsubishi Motors North America announced it would relocate its U.S. headquarters from Cypress, Calif. to Franklin, Tenn. by the end of 2019. The relocation is part of an ongoing effort to reinvent every aspect of the Mitsubishi Motors brand and business in the U.S., from corporate leadership to dealer partners to customers. The company chose Franklin because of the area’s business-friendly culture and pool of skilled workers. It is recruiting for more than 150 open positions across all departments.
The company is part of the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance. Mitsubishi is based in Japan.
