Van Buren Township-based Visteon Corp. has opened a 7,600-square-foot innovation center at its corporate headquarters for customers, industrial designers, technology leaders, and innovators.
“The innovation center is a reflection of Visteon’s global vision for developing leading-edge technology in our core cockpit electronics and climate businesses,” says Timothy D. Leuliette, president and CEO of Visteon. “It provides a welcoming and functional workspace that encourages rich dialogue and an exchange of creative ideas among customers, employees, and strategic partners.”
The new facility combines a technology showroom — displaying advanced concepts and products newly in production, developed by Visteon’s electronics business and its majority-owned climate business, Halla Visteon Climate Control — with a conferencing area, design studio, collaboration space, and experience lab.
Tim Yerdon, Visteon’s global director of innovation and design, says the center has gotten off to a fast start with Visteon’s customer base. “We’ve achieved a record number of visits to Visteon from customers and key partners since the innovation center opened, including full-day customer workshops. This not only speaks to the physical attributes of the space, but also to the appeal and relevance of the innovations inside,” he says.
