Prentice4M, a developer of lifestyle assets in Ann Arbor, has opened Venue, a restaurant, coworking, and event space offering a range of food and beverage choices alongside best-in-class technology integrated into all co-working and event areas, at 1919 S. Industrial Hwy. in Ann Arbor.

“Based on our existing portfolio of lifestyle assets, we felt this was the right time to build something special for residents,” says Margaret Poscher, co-founder and CEO of Prentice4M. “At Venue, we have unbelievably talented chefs in a custom-designed space, rooted in powerful technology. I think people are going to love it here.”

The space features four restaurant lines for dine-in and take-out, as well as a full bar, lounge, and market. Serving as executive chef is longtime Ann Arbor chef, Thad Gillies. Gillies owned and operated prominent Ann Arbor restaurant Logan for nearly two decades, as well as Asian-inspired chef-driven fast-food concept, Chow.

As executive chef of Venue, he created four restaurant concepts, including his signature provincial French style menu at Brasserie.

“As soon as I heard about the concept from Marge, I told her ‘I want to run this,’” says Gillies. “All of my experiences — beginning at Zingerman’s Deli, working in New York, and running my own restaurants — have led me to this point and I am thrilled to be leading the team on such a unique endeavor.”

The full list of restaurant lines at Venue are:

  • Venue Brasserie: The newest food concept from Gillies, Venue Brasserie is French cooking showcasing rustic dishes that let the beautiful flavors speak for itself.
  • Mesa Taqueria: Street tacos are straight from Oaxaca and feature traditional hand-made masa tortillas with accents of rich mole sauce, tangy salsas, and the freshest in toppings.
  • Pizza Forum: Authentic Neapolitan-style pizza topped with expertly sourced ingredients and baked at 800 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Pasta Forum: Authentic Italian dishes featuring hand-made pasta, made from scratch every day.
  • Bar19: Offering a robust cocktail, wine menu and beer selection expertly crafted to pair with 4M Venue’s eclectic cuisine.

With more than 25,000-square-feet of modern dining, co-working, and event space as well as indoor and outdoor flex spaces designed to serve as a gathering place for those who live, work, and play in the community, Venue operates on a custom-designed digital app that is powerful and simple-to-use in order to give every guest the freedom to easily direct their own experience, as well as immediately access the skilled service support team as necessary. It will be open seven days a week.

Additional features of the space include an early morning barista service and a market with grab and go prepared foods and other delights as well as retail sales of beer and wine.

Venue’s co-working spaces are available for monthly rentals or day passes and offer Ann Arbor’s workforce and entrepreneurs offices, desks, phone booths, and conference rooms. Co-workers will have access to exclusive events, perks, and amenities, such as food and beverage service, bookable Tesla vehicles, digital design tools, and ample parking. Access to the co-working section is 24/7.

Finally, May Mobility, Inc., an Ann Arbor-based autonomous vehicle technology company, has named 1919 S. Industrial Highway as an official drop-off and pick-up stop for the A2GO service, which connects the 4M campus with downtown Ann Arbor and Kerrytown. May Mobility is also an anchor member of Venue’s co-working space.

“This space is unlike any other in the greater Detroit area,” says Poscher. “We’re looking forward to being a contributing partner within this generous and flourishing Ann Arbor community.”
