US Farthane, an Auburn Hills-based plastics manufacturer, has selected Troy construction and real estate company Kirco Manix to expand its Westland manufacturing plant.

The Westland US Farthane facility, at 39200 Ford Rd., will be expanded by 100,000 square feet and be available for basic use by January 2020 but fully finished in early June.

“US Farathane selected Kirco Manix as the builder and partner for this extremely important expansion of our Westland operation based on their history of success in meeting critical timing deadlines, along with the impressive quality of work that has been displayed on prior completed building projects,” says Rodney Turton, vice president of purchasing at US Farathane.

Douglas W. Manix, president of Kirco Manix, says, “Kirco Manix is pleased to partner with US Farathane for this expansion project that is both complex and on a demanding timeline. This expansion, as well as related site improvements, will help the company continue to meet the needs of its customers for highly engineered plastic products and materials.”

US Farathane has been a source of plastics manufacturing for the automotive industry for more than 40 years. It provides customers with a wide range of full-service support from black box design concepts to highly engineered composites, TPE’s and TPO’s as well as specialized extrusion and compression technologies.
