Troy-based Wealth Management Firm Expands into Europe

Longtime Troy-based wealth management firm Moore Stephens Doeren Mayhew has acquired Emerson & Partner U.S. Tax GmbH, a tax firm based in Zurich, Switzerland – its first venture overseas. The Troy company also has offices in Dallas, Houston, Miami, and Charlotte, N.C. Details of the merger were not released.

“Our merger with Emerson & Partner U.S. Tax GmbH is the first step in expanding the international footprint of our firm,” says Joseph A. Amine, director at Moore Stephens Doeren Mayhew. “And it enables us to better serve our clients.”

Clinton L. Emerson, the owner of Emerson and Partner will join Moore Stephens Doeren Mayhew as a director in the international services group, and continue as the managing director of the Zurich office. Barbara M. Emerson will continue her role as director of finance, human resources, and administration as well.

Moore Stephens has 30 employees in Troy and 10 others in its U.S. locations. The merger, effective last week, adds 10 professionals, and Emerson & Partner will be known as Moore Stephens Emerson.
