2077

Troy-based Life Chest, a company that sells heirloom-styled chests to store and preserve family photographs and mementos, has partnered with Overstock.com to sell its products online.

“The Life Chest is a product we love and aligns with what Overstock is all about — quality, value, and soul,” says Seth Mark, senior vice president of strategic initiatives, merchandising, and sourcing at Overstock.com.

Life Chests are designed to store photographs and keepsakes and come in a variety of sizes and styles. The products are available at Art Van Furniture stores in Michigan and Ohio, The Life Chest showroom in Troy, and online at thelifechest.com.

About 30 Life Chest designs will be available on Overstock.com. Prices range from about $200 to $1,000 per chest.

In addition, the company has expanded its mission by donating Life Chests to veteran organizations such as All Veteran Group and charitable organizations like The Pink Fund and Jill’s Wish that help families struggling with cancer.

Life Chest was founded in 2000 by Kim Yost, the CEO of Art Van. The project was then put on hold and Yost’s wife, Donna, revived the idea in 2012. She’s now the CEO of the company.
