Seeing growth in construction and infrastructure investments in Michigan, Troy-based G2 Consulting Group, an engineering services firm, has opened a full-service office in Ann Arbor.
“G2 has been fortunate to have contributed to the growth and construction activity in Washtenaw County and particularly in Ann Arbor in recent years,” says Mark Smolinski, the company’s president. “Having an Ann Arbor office will enable us to participate more fully in this community.”
Founded in 1994, the firm specializes in geotechnical, environmental, and construction engineering services and has completed several campus improvement and infrastructure projects at the University of Michigan. Smolinski says G2 also recently completed work on the Arbor Hills shopping center, and is providing special inspection and testing services to a general contractor.
The Ann Arbor office will employ four full-time engineers and a senior field technician and includes a full service materials laboratory where soil and materials lab work can be completed onsite.
Smolinski says G2 expects to report an approximate 20 percent improvement in its 2013 revenues.
